Dawn’s Swim Profile

About Dawn

I began swimming with Poole Volunteer Lifeguards in 1983, voluntarily lifeguarding the local beaches at weekends and competing at national level individually and as part of a 6 strong team gaining many medals along with an award from the sports council for outstanding performance in the national lifeguard championships.  I have completed the round Brownsea Island Swim many years in succession (which for those who don’t know is 4.6 miles around and cold.)

I began teaching voluntarily for several clubs over a period of 15 years and was awarded the certificate of merit from the lifesaving society for my services.  Because of my lifeguard training it opened up many opportunities enabling me to teach on the 999 roadshows teaching resuscitation, save a baby’s life course to parents, youth afloat lifesaving skills to young children are just a few to mention.

Come and ask me more there is lots I’d love to share.
